Format
The Matrix Integral educational program will be based on participation as opposed to production. The main format will be that of the workshop, lead by a facilitator who does some lecturing and leads interactive exercises and discussions. We will also have traditional lectures, dialogue and group discussion, and project work.
Projecteering at Matrix Integral has a very wide meaning. Projects can take the form of traditional academic papers or many other creative forms set by the student. Your project may be anything from starting an organization or company, doing research or writing, to setting up a theater play or working with music. Work on personal projects will be augmented by personal and group coaching, with teachers and students.
While we have plans for structured lectures and teaching, as the term goes on the teacher will fade from prominence, allowing the students to take an active role in shaping their own learning. Although we will continue to provide the educational structure, we expect our students to follow their own interests and values in deciding what material to actively pursue. We want our students to learn from each other and to actively engage in the educational process.
Facilitation of dialogues, team-work, and many exercises will gradually be held more and more by students. Leadership is not something one can only learn by theory - it has to be practiced. We wish to provide frameworks of practice for our students to develop their leadership capacity in a safe environment where learning is fun and easy.
